Manchester based Keating supercars is going after the world’s fastest production car title with their 1800 horsepower TKR supercar.
Last month at the Salt Lake Flats in California they hit a top speed of 260.1 mph (416 km/h) on the first of two runs.
That’s 3 mph faster than the SCC Ultimate Aero and 7 mph faster than the Bugatti Veyron. If they can repeat that speed again, Keating TKR will earn the title as the world’s fastest production car in the Guinness Book of World Records.
Keating has not released much about the car, all we know that power comes from a 7.0-liter engine(based on the LS7 found in the Corvette) that produces 1800 horsepower.
Tony Keating, founder of Keating Supercars, said: “The Keating TKR realises our ambition to take on the world’s finest supercars and win. This car rivals them all for looks, handling, performance and exclusivity. And best of all, it’s British.”
Keating TKR is currently on display at MPH The Prestige and Performance Motor Show at London’s Earls Court.
Surely impressive numbers, but why are all these new “supercar” makers comparing their new cars to the Veyron in top speed? This one has 800 horsepower and just 7 mph faster. Plus we have no doubt that Veyron will top it in luxury and reliability.
