Lotus Details Its Upcoming 3-Eleven

by SpeedLux

Do you, by any chance, still remember the 2-Eleven vehicle model from the British automaker that is currently owned by the Malaysian automaker Proton, Lotus? Well, in case you don’t, let us remind you that this was quite a capable car in its time. Now, however, it is time for some upgrades and it is perhaps the reason Lotus is now shedding some lights on the successor to the 2-Eleven, dubbed the 3-Eleven.

The details on the British marquee’s 3-Eleven model had been released on a recent interview conducted by the Auto Motor und Sport magazine. The magazine decided to interview Jean-Marc Gales, the CEO of the British automaker, himself. Of course, this means that all bits of information you are about to receive here are completely legitimate. So, to begin with, according to Gales, the upcoming Lotus 3-Eleven model will be taking advantage of the chassis that the company once used for the Exige model. This time around, however, the chassis will prove to be pretty stiff and have a total weight of 890 kg.

Thankfully, the details do not stop at that point. This Gales has also revealed that the upcoming successor to the company’s 2-Eleven model will be packing a V6 engine under its hood. This engine, it is said, delivers a total power output of 420 PS. This makes it possible for the car in question to complete one whole lap at the Nurburgring Nordschleife in only 7 minutes 9 seconds. Its top speed reaches the figure of 290 km/h.

The Lotus 3-Eleven will reportedly be revealed during the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show in September this year. According to reports, only 311 examples of the model will be made into production. Last but not least, one of the most interesting fact is that the car will reportedly be legal for use on public roads around the world.
