Man killed after car crashes into garbage truck in New York

A Brooklyn man was killed on Wednesday afternoon after he failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of County Route 83 approaching Route 44 in Amenia, New York, and crashed into a garbage truck.

State Police said the driver of the car, a 2003 Toyota Camry, Christian Brink, 37, of Brooklyn, was declared dead at Sharon Hospital.

Brink made a left turn to continue eastbound on Route 44 directly in the path of the westbound truck, according to police.

Passenger in his car is in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation remains continued.
