McLaren releases stunning video of P1 lapping the Nurburgring in less than seven minutes

by SpeedLux

McLaren has recently released a mind boggling video of the P1 running lapping the tracks of the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

The company declined to give details of the most important thing as to whether or not the car beat the Porsche 918 Spyder’s time of 6 minutes and 57 seconds but they did confirm that the P1 achieved its one remaining performance target by lapping the Green Hell in time of less than seven minutes.

Just to recap, the P1 comes equipped with a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 engine and an electronic motor that generates an output of 179 HP (132 kW) and 192 lb-ft (260 Nm) of torque. This enables the super car to have a combined maximum output of whopping 916 HP (674 kW) and 663 lb-ft (900 Nm) of torque. With the help of such output, the super car is able to achieve the sprint of 0-100 kmph (0-62 mph) in less than three seconds and comes with an electronically-limited top speed of 350 kmph (217 mph).

Sounds pretty interesting but it would have been great had the company released the actual timing as well, but nevertheless something is better than nothing!
