Mercedes-Benz planning X-Class to slot below GLA, to be based on the Renault Captur – report

by SpeedLux

As per a recent report, Mercedes-Benz is allegedly working on an X-Class baby crossover which will be positioned below the GLA-Class.

We had heard a rumor almost a year back about Mercedes-Benz plotting a sub-GLA crossover and several months later a report had also indicated that the German marque was working on a new range of entry-level models with the X-Class moniker. Now, a report from Auto Express also suggests that a smaller Mercedes-Benz crossover called X-Class is in the pipeline and most likely it will be based on the Renault Captur.

The same source also indicates that the company will launch a sportier-looking variant of the ML in 2015 with the MLC designation according to us will compete with the likes of BMW X6. About a year later the X-Class should be available in the showrooms as a more premium German alternative to the Captur.

Well nothing has been officially confirmed yet but if we go by the report, we may get to see this X-Class model soon which will be placed below GLA. Till then we will have to wait for further details to be out.
