Nissan Motor has announced that it will temporarily stop production of its manufacturing facilities in the U.S. starting March 20 through April 6.

The automaker is taking this action to increase containment efforts where possible around the coronavirus. Presently there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 coronavirus at any Nissan facility.

Areas deemed business-essential will operate with improved safety measures.

About 9,269 people in the United States have been confirmed as being infected with the coronavirus. The virus has killed about 151 people in the country.
