Nissan Juke-R 2.0 concept Revealed at Goodwood Festival of Speed 2015

by SpeedLux

Nissan is back with its newly improved Juke-R 2.0. The concept was revealed in the Goodwood Festival of Speed ongoing in the UK, where the Juke-R 2.0 will take on the famous hill climb with Nissan’s GT Academy winner Jann Mardenborough. This concept is based on the original Juke-R which started off as a project by some of Nissan’s British staff and motorsport partners. Essentially, the goal was to shoehorn the GT-R’s twin turbocharged V-6 engine and all-wheel-drive system into a hatchback.

The updated Juke-R 2.0 includes a heavily redesigned front bumper, which offers air flow for engine cooling, a carbon fiber rear bumper and diffuser, and remodeled carbon fiber side sills. The lights and bonnet are all from the 2015 MY Nissan Juke, while the color is the same matte black as the first Juke-R. The interiors have remained largely the same as the previous version only with a slight change of a black headlining. The GT-R NISMO’s twin-turbo V6 3.8 liter engine delivers a massive 600 PS (441 kW) and 652 Nm (481 Ib-ft) of torque, making it substantially more powerful than its original Juke-R which has only 492 PS. There are no official performance figures for the Juke-R 2.0, but the 600bhp power output suggests it will improve on the 2011 Juke-R’s figures. Despite a six figure charge of $590,000 on the original Juke- R, only a handful of units were made. Nissan currently has not declassified whether the Juke-R 2.0 would hit the production line because as of now the company only refers to the Juke-R 2.0 as a concept.
