by SpeedLux

Porsche is celebrating its fifty years this year and in different styles. The latest celebration of the company is introducing Porsche 911 Carrera 4S in police striping. Porsche 911 series have been used in the past as police cars and so this version is not the first for either Porsche of police.

In early 1960s, General Traffic Department of the National Police was looking for cars which would be fast and reliable. The Department selected Porsche 356 B Cabriolet for this and they purchased first twelve models of it in 1962.

In 1967, 912 Targa replaced the car and they had a soft rear window and within two years, 914 models followed and they had a six-cylinder engine. More than 500 cars have been sold by Porsche to the Police department between 1962 and 1994.

The Porsche 911 Carrera 4S has been released by Porsche Centre Twente and the starting price is € 136,500 excluding police striping.
