The luxury German automaker, Porsche, has decided to finally take the veil off its latest Boxster variant, this time an open top one. Yes, the company has officially unveiled its latest Boxster Spyder. According to the German marquee, this car is designed to target purists. Therefore, it sports a unique engine cover and also front and rear bumpers that are derived from the company’s Cayman GT4 model. Also, being an open top variant, the car is also coming with a uniquely designed soft top that is pretty light in terms of weight.

Stepping into the cabin of the car, buyers of this vehicle model in particular will find a newly designed steering wheel and a pair of sport seats. However, if you are looking for either an air conditioning system or a radio, you are not likely to find any of these inside the cabin. Yet, Porsche has made both these elements available for order without the customers having to pay any extra money at all whatsoever.

Beneath the engine bay, lies a 3.8L 6-cylinder engine that delivers 375 PS of total power output. This engine is mated to a manual gearbox that enables the vehicle to accelerate from a standstill to the speed of 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds. The car can also reach a top speed of 290 km/h.

Needless to say, when it comes to a vehicle with the Porsche badging on it, buyers can, and should, expect a high performance. This is why the car is equipped with such components as high performance brakes that are derived from the Porsche 911 Carrera, an enhanced steering system and also sports suspension that makes the car lower by 20 mm.

The Porsche Boxster Spyder will reportedly be available for sale in July in Porsche’s home country, Germany. There, the price will be 79,945 Euros. Yet, as for the American market, the car will go on sale in October and it will be offered with a price tag of $82,100, prior to a destination charge of $995.
