The Sin R1 Supercar Is Ready to Roll Out

by SpeedLux

For those who have been putting aside a huge sum of cash enough to buy a super sports car, their choices have just gotten broader. This is possible thanks to the arrival of the British made supercar known as the Sin R1. It’s a super sports car that is legal for use on the public roads and it has very recently hit the market with a total price tag of ‘only’ £72,000. The Sin R1 comes as a result of the collaboration between a British automaker, Sin Cars, and its supplier, ProFormance Metals.

Performance-wise, the Sin R1 packs a 6.2L V8 engine that comes from Chevrolet. This engine is capable of producing a total power output of 444 bhp. Mated to a manual 6-speed transmission, the engine is capable of taking the car from a complete standstill to the 62mph mark within a matter of 3.5 seconds. Its top speed goes as high as 170 mph. Interestingly, though, Sin Cars claims that its fuel consumption can be as effective as 24 mpg. This car features a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) drivetrain driven by the manual 6-speed transmission. Yet, Sin Cars is planning to offer paddle shift style manual transmission in the near future.

The Sin R1 uses carbon composite material for its body in addition to tubular spaceframe chassis homologated by FIA, an international automobile federation. As a result, the car weighs in at only 1,100 kg. Other features to come as standard include 19” bespoke alloy wheels, F1 style fuel tank approved by the FIA, 363mm performance disc brakes, double wishbone suspension system that can be adjusted when necessary, carbon fiber interior trims and a couple of leather racing seats.

Besides the road legal Sin R1, Sin Cars is also offering a racing variant of the model, dubbed the GTB. This one, however, is only legal for track use. This car also participated in a racing competition dubbed the GT Cup Championship earlier this year. It was driven by Rosen Daskalov, the person at the helm of Sin Cars, during the event. For the racing variant of the Sin R1, the British automaker is demanding no less than £110,000, which is totally an eye-watering amount of cash.
