Six killed after helicopter crash in West Virginia

Six people were killed after a deadly helicopter crash that took place on June 22, around 4:57 p.m. in Logan County, West Virginia.

The six victims include a pilot, three passengers and two pilot-rated passengers. They were on a flight, related to a Huey Reunion event.

MARPAT Aviation offered helicopter rides to them.

Officials say the flight of a Bell UH-1B helicopter left the Logan County Airport and it crashed almost 3.7 miles from the airport.

The helicopter was engulfed after the crash.

Six victims hailed from different states. They have been identified as a 73-year-old Carolyn O’Connor from Winter Garden, Marvin Bledsoe, 64, Jack Collins, 65, Kevin Warren, 51, Donald Sandhoff, 69, and John Nagle, 53.

Bledsoe and Collins were from West Virginia, Warren from Tennessee, Sandhoff from North Carolina and Nagle from Texas.

National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) investigated the crash.

NTSB found that the helicopter flight was the last one scheduled for the day and its route was different from earlier tour paths.
