Stolen car spiked, crashes into police vehicle in the northern suburbs

A male has been detained following a police pursuit through Adelaide’s north.

Authorities identified a white Holden sedan on Yattalunga Road, at Humbug Scrub, just after 7pm on Friday which seemed broken down.

As the patrol approached, the vehicle took off at speed and was pursued for a short time before being stopped for security reasons.

Officers inspected the car’s registration and discovered it had been stolen from the Parabanks Shopping center on October 17.

The stolen car was identified about 10 minutes later Black Top Rd, at One Tree Hill, and was once again pursued by authorities.

Patrols established cordons around the area prior to cops surged the vehicle’s tires on Yorktown Rd at Craigmore.

But the automobile continued driving on its rims through the backstreets of Elizabeth Downs and into Elizabeth North.

The stolen Holden stopped after it crashed with a patrol car at the corner of Birdbush and Tisbury streets, at Elizabeth North, triggering small damage.

There were no injuries, stolen automobile was also bearing stolen numberplates.

A Davoren Park male, 29, was accused of participating in a cops pursuit, illegal use of a motor vehicle, driving disqualified and driving with unassigned plates.

The man did not request bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Monday.

A woman who was a traveler in the car was talked to by authorities but not charged.
