Suzuki to invest $970 million in second production line in Gujarat

Japanese automaker Suzuki Motor will invest about 100 billion yen ($970.97 million) in a second automobile production line at its brand-new plant in Gujarat, India, before the operations have started.

The 2nd line might debut in early 2019, the report stated, and will make the exact same annual volume as the very first production line, which is slated to debut in 2017.

The addition of the production line are anticipated to boost Suzuki’s production capability to 2 million vehicles a year, the paper stated.

The new factory in Gujarat will make models such as the Baleno hatchback, with cars for export likewise being thought about due to Gujarat being a significant port, Nikkei stated.
