The Hall County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a wrong-way driver crash that resulted in three deaths on Georgia 365 during the Memorial Day weekend.

Sheriff’s deputies and Hall County Fire Services personnel responded to the two-vehicle crash at around 12:10 a.m. on Sunday, May 30. The location was just south of Kubota Way.

Daney Nava, 27, of Lilburn, drove her car south on the northbound inside lane of GA 365 and struck a northbound 2015 Jeep Patriot Sport. The Patriot, driven by Kristen Nicole Mitchell, 23, of Cleveland, flipped on its side and engulfed.

The two drivers and the only passenger, Darnell Fernando Fidencio, 8, also from Lilburn, died in the car crash. Fidencio was riding in the back seat of Nava’s 2013 Volkswagen Jetta.

After the crash, a northbound 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe C1500 hit debris in the roadway but nobody inside the vehicle was injured.
