Toyota/Subaru FT-86 details confirmed by Fuji Heavy President

by Alex

The ties and tangles that bound and bond biggies like Sabaru, Fuji Heavy Industry, and Toyota is not of mush consequence to customers, other than the end product that they are going to make and being waited for in anticipation by the people. A Toyota that is more interesting than any other Toyota to date as well as a lot spicier in looks than the Subaru. The car named FT-86 is on schedule as far as its production goes as per the Fuji Heavy Industry president Ikuo Mori. The target date is late March 2011.

Mori has however highlighted stuff like AE86 in his talk to the people and this could mean a not very comfortable or a very fuel efficient car in the making. That is not something that is very much acceptable.

He has indicated the car would hold a 2.0-liter, 260-horsepower turbo boxer four paired to a six-speed manny tranny driving the rear wheels. It is expected that the Toyota version would be a bit sleepier and naturally aspirated. The entire interview with Mori though has been printed in Japanese language.
