Two killed after a head-on car crash last weekend were identified Wednesday.

The crash took place about 3:40 a.m. on Sunday in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 80, when a Honda SUV going west and the wrong way struck into a Tesla Model 3 just west of the Pomona Street exit, near the Carquinez Bridge.

Two have been identified as Madyson James, 29, of Emeryville, and Ruiju Ma, 38, of Vallejo and said James was the driver of the SUV.

There were no other occupants in the cars.

A Toyota Camry going east struck the SUV and the Tesla moments later, resulting in both cars engulf. The Toyota driver experienced minor injuries.
