Two dead after car crash in Oceanside, California

Two people were killed after a car hit a fire hydrant in Oceanside, California on Friday evening.

The crash took place just after 5 p.m. along College Boulevard and Avenida Empresa when a 2008 Toyota Scion XB traveling north on College went off the lane and hit a retaining wall and fire hydrant before rolling over.

The driver was taken out from the vehicle in the impact.

Both the driver and passenger died at the scene.

The identities of the victims were not released.

Anyone with information on the crash is urged to contact Oceanside Police Department at 760-435-4431.
