Two dead after single-vehicle crash in Denver

A single-vehicle crash on Saturday in Denver‘s Virginia Village neighborhood resulted in the death of two people.

Officers attended the E 17th Ave / North Monaco Parkway around 2:30 p.m. following a report of a vehicle colliding into a tree according to the Denver Police Department.

Both the driver and passenger in the vehicle were declared dead on the scene. Nobody else was in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Parts of North Monaco Parkway were closed and police urged people to use alternative routes only to be reopened after 3 hours.

The cause of the crash is currently not known, and high speed may have been a factor.
