Two people died after a wrong-way car crash near Picacho Peak, in Arizona on Wednesday afternoon.

The crash has prompted traffic delays on eastbound Interstate 10 near Picacho Peak.

The eastbound I-10 near milepost 222 has been heavily restricted following the crash between two vehicles.

Arizona Department of Transportation said all traffic will be directed to exit at milepost 219 at this time.

It wasn’t known immediately when the traffic would reopen.

Officials recommended “If you must get to Tucson, SR 79 is your best route.”
