Two dead, one injured after car crash in Edmonton

A 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man were killed in a single-vehicle crash Monday evening in south Edmonton.

Police responded to the car crash on Calgary Trail near 41 Avenue SW around 6:30 p.m.

The crash took place when a 2014 Land Rover was southbound and it lost control and hit a culvert in the center median.

The rear passenger, a 16-year-old boy, was ejected from the vehicle before the Land Rover rolled several times.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, a 16-year-old boy, was admitted to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The 19-year-old man was ejected from the vehicle and taken by STARS to the hospital with serious life-threatening injuries.

He later succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

Edmonton Police Service investigated the crash.
