Two dead as stolen car crashes in yard after police chase in St. Paul

Two people are dead after crashing a stolen vehicle in a yard following a police pursuit in St. Paul, Minneapolis.

A deputy located a stolen vehicle around 3:40 p.m. Friday and subsequently attempted to initiate a traffic stop on Beebe Road North and Holloway Avenue East, according to Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver did not pull over, resulting in pursuit until the deputy lost sight of the automobile. The officer kept searching until coming across a crash scene in a yard close to the intersection of Larpenteur Avenue and Chamber Street.

Three people from the vehicle ran from the scene on foot, while three others remained inside the vehicle. Emergency personnel tried life-saving measures, but two of those people succumbed to their injuries.

Two of the suspects who fled on foot following the crash were discovered and taken into custody, while the location of the driver is still not known.

Identities of the deceased individuals was not released.
