Two killed after car crash in Lebanon, Virginia

Two died following a car crash on Route 19 in Lebanon, Virginia on Monday.

Virginia State Police say a 2018 Chevrolet Cruze was traveling south on Route 19 and tried to make a left turn onto Regional Park Road, when it crashed with a northbound 2021 Ford F250.

After the crash, the Ford ran off and hit the traffic signal post.

A 33-year-old identified as Joseph D. Smith was driving the Ford. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 55-year-old passenger in the Ford, identified as Timothy M. Meadows was flown to Johnson City Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The Ford was also towing a horse trailer and the horse died due to the crash.

The driver and passenger insider the Cruze were seriously injured. They were flown to Johnson City Medical Center for treatment.
