Two killed, three injured after car crash on Missouri highway

Two children were killed and three others were injured after their car was hit by an 18-wheeler on a Missouri highway on Friday.

The crash took place when a 2004 Ford Expedition failed to yield around 12:10 p.m. and pulled into the path of an 18-wheeler.

The Expedition, driven by a 34-year-old identified as Startisha M. Brown, had six passengers, five of whom were children ranging in age from 11 to 15. The sixth passenger, a 30-year-old was identified as Tatrelisha M. Johnson.

Two of the children, an 11-year-old and a 14-year-old, both males, died due to the crash.

Two other children suffered serious injuries.

The driver of the 18-wheeler, identified as Daniel L. Wiggins of Pineville, was not injured.

Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
