Two killed, two injured after car crashes in Washington Park

Two people were killed and two others were seriously injured on Monday night when a sport-utility vehicle struck around the tree in Washington Park, Chicago.

The crash took place at 8:30 p.m. at Morgan and Rainey drives when a red sport-utility vehicle was headed east on Morgan Drive with four occupants.

The SUV struck the door of a silver Chrysler sedan that was headed east as well. The SUV after that went on to strike a tree.

The 35-year-old man driving the SUV was taken out and was pronounced dead at the scene. A 23-year-old woman died as well.

Two men, ages 19 and 21, were admitted to the University of Chicago Medical Center in fair condition.
