Two people dead after vehicle crash in Bennington, Vermont

The deadly crash occurred around 6:45 PM on Route 9 in Bennington, Vermont.

The 29-year-old driver of a large manure spreader arrived at his field to find a Toyota Camry crammed in the rear of a machine.

He also saw two occupants dead inside the vehicle.

Charles Schichtl, 85, and Lorraine Schichtl, 82, of Petersburg, New York died at the scene.

Police say they died after their car hit the back of a farm vehicle on West Road.

Investigation into the incident is ongoing and an autopsy of the victims will be scheduled.
