Volkswagen plugs in to rising demand for electric vehicles in China

Volkswagen has told that its BUDD-e, the 2016 CES show automobile, which is visiting China as an ambassador for e-mobility, is drawing a great deal of attention. With the concept vehicle, Volkswagen is providing the next generation of electrically powered cars to Chinese drivers.

The German automaker states, “The Chinese are fascinated by this Volkswagen, which draws visually on the famous ‘Bulli’ and therefore forms a bridge in between the origins of the brand and a time far into the future. BUDD-e is the first Volkswagen based upon the brand-new Modular Electric Drive Kit (MEB).” By the year 2020, the company will launch the MEB models, effective electrical vehicles with varieties at the level these days’s gas counterparts; the 2016 CES show car has got 533-kilometre range.

China desires to be the leading hub for technology in the locations of electrical automobiles and connected automobiles. Electrical cars or New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) as they are called there, sold over 330,000 vehicles in 2015, a big jump over the 87,000 systems sold in 2014. That makes China the biggest EV market in the world after the US.
