Germany’s Volkswagen AG had flat worldwide sales in April, as continuous weakness in Brazil offset a significant increase in Europe and North America, the company stated.

In April, Volkswagen had 853,300 car sold, which saw an increase of simply 100 units as compared to April last year. In the very first 4 months of the year, Volkswagen’s car sales rose 0.6% to 3.3 million units.

“The start into the 2nd quarter shows the uneven advancement of the individual regions,” stated Fred Kappler, Head of Group Sales.

In the US, automobile sales decreased 3.6% in April to 50,500 systems.

The automaker earlier on Friday stated that sales for its Volkswagen brand name fell 3.9% in April. Volkswagen, which is still coping with the fallout from its emissions-cheating scandal, remained to shed market share in April. Information from the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association revealed the Volkswagen-brand market share decreasing to 12% from 12.7% in April 2015.
