Woman detained by citizens for stealing delivery driver’s car in Chicago

An 18-year-old female deals with charges after apparently stealing a delivery motorist’s car in Belmont Central and then being held by residents till authorities got showed up.

Yuliana Correa of Albany Park is facing a felony count of possession of a stolen automobile and illegal possession of a credit/debit card, according to Chicago authorities.

Authorities said she got in Honda CRV parked in the 2400 block of North Meade Avenue at 12:45 p.m. Monday while the vehicle driver supplied food nearby.

The delivery motorist had his keys with him however there was a spare set in the cars and truck, cops said.

She drove off in the Honda and struck into two parked automobiles in the 6200 block of West Palmer Street, cops said. She was detained by residents up until police officers detained her.

Correa additionally faces a misdemeanor count of driving without a license and also citations for driving the wrong way down a one-way road, striking an unattended automobile and running an uninsured vehicle.

She was expected to show up in court later Tuesday.
