Car crashes into Pembroke Park shopping center, Florida

A destructive crash overnight in Pembroke Park, Florida, has left one woman dead.

The incident occurred in Hallandale Beach Boulevard between 40th and 48th Avenue.

Witnesses said that a car was traveling eastbound on Hallandale Beach Boulevard when it lost control and then it went airborne. It then crashed into a shopping plaza.

Officials said the driver of the car that lost control is a woman and that she was taken out of her vehicle. She was declared dead on scene by first responders.

At least six parked vehicles were harmed in the single car crash. One of those vehicles was pushed through the front doors of Thirsty’s bar.

Workers of Thirsty’s said off-camera they were closed and cleaning up when the crash took place.

Broward Sheriff’s Office units blocked part of the roadway for much of Sunday morning.

An investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
