1 dead after car falls through ice in Crown Point, New York

One person was declared dead after their car fell through the ice on Lake Champlain in Crown Point, New York on Tuesday night.

The New York State Police say they responded to an area on Champlain Shores Way in Crown Point for a car that had fallen through the ice on Lake Champlain. They say the vehicle was discovered Wednesday approximately 150 feet off-shore submerged in the water.

One victim was recovered inside and was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene.

Police released no further details.
