1 dead and 2 injured in 3 car crash in Volusia County

One person is dead and two others were injured after a car crash involving three cars on Sunday evening according to Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

The incident took place in Volusia County, Florida.

The crash took place on State Road 40 and Check Station Road. One car, traveling eastbound, traveled into the westbound lane and struck the front of a truck, according to Troopers.

The truck that got hit had a wheel chair in the bed of it, and the wheel chair was taken out from the bed of the truck and struck the car traveling behind it in the westbound lane, according to officials.

Officials said that the passenger in the truck was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, and the driver of the car and the driver of the truck were taken to Halifax Medican Center. They had serious injuries.
