A 12-year-old girl died and a family member is in the hospital after the car they were using was hit by another driver who allegedly ran a red light.
The girl and her aunt were going westbound along Northline Road in Taylor, Michigan, on Wednesday when another driver going southbound on Telegraph ran the red light and hit them.
The driver who allegedly ran the red light is a 20-year-old Taylor man who has been arrested and taken into custody on charges of Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) and causing death. Police say they know the suspect well and had just had a run in with him earlier week over an alleged assault that he was charged for.
The girl and her aunt were traveling to pick up newspapers for delivery when the crash took place. It is not clear which publication the duo was expected to pick up and deliver. The aunt suffered injuries in the crash too and was admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Both the aunt and the girl killed in the crash hail from Allen Park.

He should have died his inexcusable actions, not the innocent 12 year old. So very very sad. Sick of these intoxicated people behind the wheel.
