2 dead, 3 injured after car crash in Newark

Two people were killed and three others injured following a car crash involving a stolen vehicle on Thursday in Newark, New Jersey.

The crash took place around 4:40 a.m. in the area of West Peddie Street and Elizabeth Avenue.

It wasn’t known as of yet that how many vehicles were involved or if there were additional injuries.

Both people were pronounced dead at the scene.

The injured — all women — were admitted to an area hospital.

Essex County Prosecutor’s Office was investigating the crash.
