Two persons died whereas five others were injured after their vehicle hit roadside trees in Sanchez Mira, Cagayan on Monday night.
The crash was reported on Wednesday, and the victims were identified as Demi Mar Sadoy, who was pronounced dead at the scene; and Mark Gil Manantan, who was succumbed to injuries at a hospital.
Enteria said the victims’ car struck the trees in Barangay Callungan, probably because of mechanical trouble or human error.
Officials said the victims were on their way to Claveria town when the crash took place.
The slippery road due to incessant rains could have played a role reason in the crash, officials said.
