2 dead after pickup trucks crash involving snowplow in Saskatchewan

Two people are dead following a three-vehicle collision in western Saskatchewan involving a snowplow.

RCMP said a pickup truck and a snowplow initially crashed on Highway 16, about one kilometer west of Maidstone at around 2:50 p.m. on Monday.

A second pickup truck then crashed with the snowplow.

Two passengers in the second pickup, a 47-year-old woman and a 24-year-old woman, were killed in the crash.

The driver of the second pickup and another passenger were hospitalized. Their injuries are non-life-threatening.

The driver of the first pickup truck was injured as well with non-life-threatening injuries.

Highway 16 was closed for some but was later reopened.

It is yet to be known that what caused the crash.
