2 killed after car crash on I-64 in Louisa County

Two people were killed after a car crash on Interstate 64 in Louisa County, Virginia on Tuesday night.

Officials were notified just before 11 p.m. of the crash at mile marker 133.

A Honda SUV was heading east when it struck a 1990 GMC Dump truck.

The people inside the SUV were pronounced dead at the scene.

The 51-year-old dump truck driver was admitted to the hospital with non-life threatening injury.

Eastbound I-64 was closed at mile 133 after the crash.

Officials were of the view that an extended closure was likely.

Drivers were being detoured onto 250 at exit 129 and then back onto 64 at exit 136.
