2 people killed in car accident near Livingston, Alabama

A two-vehicle crash took place around 8:30 p.m. and left two people dead on Saturday.

The crash took place on U.S. 80 near the 21-mile marker, approximately 10 miles west of Livingston city limits according to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division.

A 2014 Toyota Camry driven by Gale Patrick Lewis, 56, of Demopolis hit a 2013 Freightliner tractor-trailer which was being driven by Ernesto Tamayo Castro, 62, of Los Angeles.

Lewis and his passenger, John Jones, 60, of Cleveland, Ohio, were both dead at the scene.

The incident is currently being investigating.
