2012 Bmw 6-Series Coupe to be revealed at the 2011 Shanghai Auto Show

by Alex

The 2011 Shanghai Auto Show scheduled to be held in April this year would have on display the new BMW coupe. At the Paris Auto Show held last year a Concept-6 Series Coupe from BMW had been up on display. The car then looked nearly production ready. The exterior of the new BMW coupe is based on that concept car. Even the interior remains same with just the roof that is fixed in this case. The car comes in a four seat configuration. BMW fans would find similarity in features like the elegantly flat, free standing Control Display of the iDrive operating system, coming in as part of standard fitment.

The engine would be a 4.4 liter twin turbocharged V-8 delivering 407 hp and 443 pound feet (601 Nm) of torque for the 650i coupe model. This is a carryover from the Convertible model. The 640i model would be getting a 3.0 liter turbocharged six cylinder unit which would deliver 320 hp and 332 pound feet (450 Nm) of torque.

Talk was on about the M6 model getting a twin turbo 4.8 liter V8 which was supposed to deliver 550 hp. The pricing of the 650i coupe model is expected to be lesser than $91,375 which is the price for the 650i Convertible model. The 640i would be even lower in price range than that when sales begin in spring.
