2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302S: Here are the official details revealed

Details about the Mustang 302S has finally been released by Ford after continuous request for the same by the people at bay. This vehicle had been introduced earlier last month in a limited edition and is slated to be positioned between the Boss 302Laguna Seca and the Boss 302R Grand-Am racer. This vehicle also holds the distinction of being the third car that is being built completely at the Ford production site and thereafter being sold through Ford retailer network only. The base model of the car is the 2012 Boss 302. A 5.0 liter four-valve Ti-VCT V8 engine has been added to this model. This engine develops 440 hp and thereafter coupled to a six-speed transmission system. For power being transferred to the rear wheels they have used T2 Torsen differential and 3.73 gears.

There is the coil-over damper which has a two-way adjustable system and Ford racing anti-roll bars for both axles that are among the features that have been added to the car. In order to reduce weight the seam sealer, sound deadener and interior panels have been removed from the starting Mustang body used for the buildup. Reinforcement of the body has been carried out as well as a six point FIA legal roll cage has been added to the car. For seats there is the Recaro HANS Pro-Racer motorsport seat as well as the six-point safety belt quick release steering wheel and AIM data acquisition system with GPS.

Aerodynamic features of the car have been upgraded using unique fiberglass heat extracting hood, adjustable front splitter and adjustable carbon fiber rear wing. A set of retro styled BOSS 302 decals that is based on the graphics from the original 1969 BOSS 302 program have been added to each of the car. Production of the vehicle would start at the Auto Alliance International (AAI) assembly plant in Flat Rock, Michigan site from the second quarter of next year. The price of the vehicle is expected to be $79,000 and this car would be eligible for the World Challenge GTS and the NASA American Iron Series.
