Official details of the GT-R which has been a long rumored car from Nissan has finally been revealed by the company. So we now know for sure the new upcoming GT-R is a face lift of the original car, though the face lifting job is skin deep as there is now a higher performance engine while handling characteristics of the car too has gone a notch higher. The exterior has also been modified to give it a more aerodynamic shape while the interior too has been given a thorough once over. The tires too has been upgraded. Sales of this car in the US would commence from February 2011.
The engine modification includes an increase in power output to 540 hp at 6,400 rpm while the torque limit has been raised to 612 Nm which is delivered between 3200 and 6000 rpm. As for the GT-R’s fuel efficiency, the sports car returns respectable figures of 8.5 kmpl.
The exterior package includes an enlarged bumper and grille openings. There is the newly designed front bumper with double rectifier fins and Hyper Daylight and high intensity white-color LED lights. There is also the redesigned rear bumper, a new rear bumper air outlet and a newly designed tailpipe finisher with enlarged diameter. Coming to the interior make up the car gets a newly shaped instrument panel pad and navigation system display finisher, real carbon center cluster finisher and matte black finished switches.
There is the most heralded item named the Egoist edition of this car. Created by Takumi also known as the “master with greatest skills”. Every unit of this production would be distinct from each other in which customer’s choice would decide upon the interior colors from the 20 variety that is available. Customer could also select between the exclusive seats as well as design with the stitching. The exterior of the car would be made up of carbon rear spoiler and have lightweight and highly rigid forged aluminum-alloy wheels.
The Los Angeles Motor Show was the event where the GT-R made its debut as was declared. Price for the car has been fixed by Nissan at $89,950 USD and $95,100 USD for the Premium and Black Edition respectively.
