2013 Audi A3 Sportback g-tron headed for Geneva

by SpeedLux

Audi will display in Geneva the A3 Sportback g-tron along with the e-tron plug-in hybrid version.

The g-tron has two gas based tanks and a standard 1.4 TFSI engine producing 110 HP (81 kW) and 200 Nm (147 lb-ft) of torque, sufficient for a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in 11 seconds at a top speed of 118 mph (190 km/h). The performances will remain the same even if it runs on gas.

Audi opines that it has a fuel consumption of 3.5 kg / 100 km when its runs on gas and has a range of 242 miles. These tanks are made from carbon fiber-reinforced polymer and each tank has a weight of 27 kg (59.5 lbs) when they are full.

The Audi A3 Sportback g-tron gains from an electronic gas pressure regulator which has the capacity to reduce the high pressure of the gas flowing from the cylinders. During low-speed driving it allows a low-pressure gas, but when performance has to be increased then it allows for a high-pressure flow.
