There are reports that the 2013 Maserati Ghibli will make its debut at the Shanghai Motor Show in April this year.
The Maserati Ghibli will be available for sale before the end of this year. It has been developed on the lines of the larger Quattroporte and is expected to measure around 4900 mm in length, making it about 300 mm shorter than its predecessor.
The cars will have similar frames and electrically-adjustable suspension, but in the end the Ghibli will be tuned in such a way that it would be a much more hostile car than the Quattroporte. The model is likely to be put on sale with a V6 3.0-liter direct-injection, twin-turbo engine designed by Ferrari, the engine which is found on the Quattroporte. For the smaller model, Maserati will probably change the engine to give a output 385 hp (287 KW).
There is speculation that the 2013 Maserati Ghibli will be offered with a diesel engine as well but there aren’t any details about it right now.
There are reports which indicate that it could be an upgraded version of the V6 3.0-liter turbodiesel operable in the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Chrysler 300.
Irrespective of the engine available, the smaller version of the Quattroporte will have an 8-speed automatic transmission from ZF with paddle shifters. For an extra cost, the car can be configured with an all-wheel drive system.
So that’s it, we have the least details with us so far so let us wait till the Shanghai show takes off and then we can come to some conclusion about this concept.
