A member of the Volkswagen Group, the multinational company has its headquarters in Martorell, Barcelona, exporting approximately 80% of its vehicles to 75 countries. SEAT is market leader in Spain, and in 2011 had a total turnover of more than 5.0 billion euros, with overall deliveries amounting to 350,000 units.

This time at the Paris Stand, Spanish automaker Seat released the pricing information for the third-generation Leon. In United Kingdom, the entry-level model will cost 15,670 pounds and will go on sale starting with next month, with deliveries beginning in March 2013. It will be offered in three trim levels namely S, SE, FR, with the most expensive model being the FR version with 2.0-liter TDI engine that has a starting price of 22,375 pounds.

The new element seen on the Seat leon is the the front logo on its Grille, Rear and Steering Wheel, apparently this new Leon will be the first model to wear a refreshed badges of the company. The Seat showcases a cleaner and purer design theme of its logo, which represents the precision and elegance of the brand’s design language, also reflecting the company’s engineering and quality leadership. The Highlight here is that this new logo is the seventh logo used by the brand, since it was found in the year 1950.

Now shifting our focus to the new Seat Leon, the new model is pretty sporty and and agile in nature. Its front suspension are handled by MacPherson front axle with sub-frame, while the rear uses Torsion beam for engines up to 148hp. Other powerful variants use a multi-link construction that handles longitudinal and transverse loads artfully.

Talking about the interior of the new Leon, one will get to see a beautiful example of a standard craftsmanship, the interior which is light, clear and has a uncluttered look, the dashboard is very peculiar and elegant, featuring a two-tonne design that makes it very different. The craftsmanship details cover such large air vents, the control of air conditioning and the three dimensional form of the trim elements. Despite being 52mm shorter than its predecessor, a longer wheel base ensures that it has a more cabin space, and with that it helps the luggage compartment to grab a volume of 380 liters, which is 40 liters more than that of the preceding model.

Describing the interior, Alejandro Mesonero-Romanos, Head of SEAT Design, said: “We set ourselves the objective of developing an interior which would give an expressive, elegant and welcoming ambiance. The quality of the material, the fit and finish and the attention to details is excellent. The design of the dashboard respects our new interior philosophy, with a strong driver orientation. This enhances the ergonomics while giving the design an attractive, sporty feeling. The whole has been designed so the new Leon and its driver feel as one.”

Discussing about the drivetrains the new Seat Leon consist of are:
the 1.6 TDI (Turbo Diesel Injection) engine which generates 77 kW (105 hp) and 250 Nm of torque.
