by SpeedLux

Lotus has officially unveiled their new Elise S Cup R recently but the same is the track-only model.

Adorned with the Lotus Motorsport magic, the track-only model features an aerodynamic body kit that includes a front splitter, revised side skirts, a rear diffuser and a rear wing. Other highlights of the model include a tow hooks, a hardtop, a polycarbonate rear window and 16- / 17-inch forged alloy wheels wrapped in Yokohama Advan Neova AD07 LTS tires.

Pictures of the cabin were not released but Lotus says that the model comes equipped with a quick release steering wheel, a HANS-compatible racing seat and FIA-compliant roll cage.

Under the hood, power would be provided by a turbo charged 1.8-liter 2ZR-FE four-cylinder engine which is further connected to a six-speed manual transmission. The car also comes fitted with a sport-tuned suspension (with adjustable springs and dampers), high-performance brakes and a triple-pass radiator. The car has a weight of 924 kg (2037 lbs).

This track-only Elise S Cup R will come with a starting price of £ 39,125 and will be eligible to compete in the Lotus Cup racing series that will be held in 2014.
