2014 Suzuki/Maruti Celerio spotted during photo session ahead of next month’s debut

by SpeedLux

The next generation version of the Suzuki Alto that is set to receive the Celerio moniker has been spotted recently during a photo session.

The Suzuki/Maruti Celerio will be showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo that will be held in India in February and as can be seen from these images it will clearly carry most of the design from the A:Wind concept. Under the hood, power is expected to be generated from an updated version of the 3-cylinder, 1.0-liter gasoline engine with an output of more than the existing 67 hp (50 kW) and 66 lb-ft (90 Nm) of torque sent to the front axle through a CVT. There are rumors as well that are indicating a diesel engine sometime in the future but details about the same are not available currently.

Talking about dimensions, we remind you the A:Wind concept is 3600mm long, 1600mm wide and 1540mm tall, with a stretched wheelbase compared to the outgoing Alto by 60mm to 2425mm. The concept was unveiled at Thailand Motor Show and came with 16-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 185/55 R16 tires but most likely the production version will get 14- or 15-inch rims.
