2016 Aston Martin Vulcan To be at Auction

A 2016 Aston Martin Vulcan is being provided for sale by Mecum Auctions next month. The track-only automobile is build number 11 of just 24 examples constructed by the storied British automaker.

Power for the Vulcan comes through a naturally aspirated 7.0-liter V-12 developed by Aston Marin Racing and is rated at 820 hp. Power transmitted to an Xtrac paddle-shifted, rear-mounted six-speed consecutive transaxle by means of a carbon fiber driveshaft. Asserted leading pace is north of 200 mph.

The chassis is formed around the road going Aston Martin One-77 supercar’s carbon fiber tub developed by Multimatic. It likewise includes an integrated FIA-legal steel roll cage and rear subframe. The driveshaft has been housed in a lightweight magnesium torque tube.

The suspension includes a four-way adjustable pushrod double wishbone with sway bars at both ends. Stopping power comes through Brembo carbon ceramic discs and Bosch ABS system. Power is sent to the pavement by forged alloy, center-locking wheels (19 × 11.5-inch front, 19 × 12.5-inch back) covered in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires (305/30 -19 front, 345/30 -19).

Inside, Recaro provides a set of full carbon fiber race seats having Schroth six-point racing harnesses. Other race bits consist of an adjustable AP Racing Pedal box, adjustable steering column, bespoke carbon fiber steering wheel with integrated vehicle controls, a Cosworth dash and data acquisition system, and so on.

Aerodynamic bits consist of a front splitter, rear splitter, and big adjustable rear wing. Other outside details include LED headlights and futuristic ‘Light Blade’ lamps in the back, and IsoClima Polycarbonate windows. There is likewise a set of on-board air jacks.

The automobile features an undefined purple color on the exterior over a black interior. The number 11 Aston Martin Vulcan will be at auction Saturday August in Monterey.
