3 dead after SUV hits bus in Georgetown, South Carolina

Three people died following a vehicle crash on SC 51 in Georgetown County, on Saturday morning.

Officials responded at approximately 7:19 a.m. to Browns Ferry Road near Johnson Road.

According to the South Carolina Department of Public Safety, there were 35 people on a transit bus, including the driver, when an SUV hit the bus head-on.

The three dead include the two people in the SUV and one person from the bus.

There were numerous injuries, some of them were not hospitalized.

Officials identified the victims as Kellen Graves, 42, of Kingstree, Kyle Wilson, 42, of Andrews, and Cedric Reddick, 33, of Kingstree.

One person was flown by helicopter to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The incident is currently being investigated.
