3 people killed after car crash in Spartanburg County

Three people were killed after a car crash in Spartanburg County, South Carolina on Thursday night.

The crash took place about 5:41 p.m. on Highway 221, or the Chesnee Highway, near Old Coultere Ford Road. when a Ford Mustang was traveling south on U.S. 221 and it traveled left of center in a spin before it was struck by an SUV.

Three passengers in the Mustang died, of which two passengers were pronounced dead at the scene and the third passenger succumbed to injuries in hospital.

Both drivers were admitted to the hospital for injuries.

South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
