A man wanted on outstanding warrants rammed a Clarksville officer’s car while he was evading arrest this morning in Clarksville, Tennessee, police said.
At about 9:30 a.m., while on routine patrol, a Clarksville officer observed Donald Ray Ennis, a man he knew had warrants on file, getting into a car in the 1000 block of Swift Drive, according to a news release from Detective Michael Patterson.
The officer pulled his patrol car up to Ennis’ vehicle and tried to contact him. As the officer was leaving his car, Ennis put his vehicle in reverse and jumped over the curb, Patterson said. He then put the vehicle in drive, rammed the front of the patrol car, then fled away.
The officer was not injured.
Ennis, 45, is 6 feet tall and 210 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.
Following this recent incident, Ennis has warrants on file for aggravated assault and evading arrest, Patterson said.
