Two killed after car rear-ends tractor-trailer in Dickinson County

Two people were killed and two others were injured after a small car struck a tractor-trailer on Sunday night outside of Dickson County, Tennessee.

The crash took place when a Kia Soul was traveling east on I-40 on Sunday around 9:30 p.m. after it crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer that was stopped on the interstate following an earlier crash.

The driver, a 23-year-old identified as Bayleigh Grimes, and the front passenger, a 19-year-old identified as Jordyn Schrock, were killed in the crash.

Michael King, 20, and a 2-month-old baby was injured.

The driver of the International tractor-trailer received no injuries.

All individuals were using seatbelts and the baby was in a rear-facing child car seat.

Tennessee Highway Patrol investigated the crash.
